27.04.07

Charter Presentation

The above photograph shows the official presentation of FA Charter status to Gerrards Cross & Fulmer Football Club taken at the recent Reading v Fulham game at the Majedski Statdium.

The presentation was the highlight of a very successful season for the thriving club with its 11 squads from ages 6 to 18. All teams performed well and the current Under 14’s won their league this year. With its excellent facilities, including the Pavilion, a new floodlit training area and launch of the club’s website www.gxffc.co.uk, the club is going from strength to strength.

Gerrards Cross & Fulmer Football Club, which is based at the King George’s Field in Fulmer, does have a few vacancies next season for young players in the Under 6 (they must be over 5 on 1/9/08) and Under 7-year-old age groups. Anyone interested should contact club chairman Keith Gupwell at Keith.Gupwell@7days.co.uk

Further information: Achieving FA Charter status is the kite mark for all amateur football clubs. It ensures the club has a proper constitution and committee; codes of conduct for parents, players and coaches; a child protection policy and procedures and a child protection officer; properly qualified coaches for all age groups and first aid policies and personnel. Such a status means that GX&FFC attracts the best coaches and members, as well as taking advantage of certain grants, favourable rates for FA organised courses etc.
